{foto friday: green & crafting}

FIRST of all... I have to give a shout out to a wonderful Etsy shop.   I was looking (at the last minute) for a St. Patricks Day outfit for my bug.   I came accross this steal on TUESDAY, people.  FReAKInG TUESDAY.   I sent her a email asking how long it would take to make & mail - her response - "I will make it tonight and ship tomorrow", wait... what?  YES.   And guess what was in my mail box on Thursday, people THURSDAY?  This darling little dress just in time for St. Patty's Day {and she will also be wearing it next weekend - but that will be a different post}.
Please visit Handmade by Lolo Z.  I am beyond impressed.

****Okay... now for my Foto {green}****

{Pintervention}

This was totally Pinterest inspired. However... I am taking the credit for this one. It came out of my lil old noggin. And super EASY and CUTE too boot!  I'm sure you have all see the coffee filter wreaths.
 LOVE THEM.

I needed something non red for my door.  And something new for Valentines Day.
Like I said it was super easy.
Here are the supplies you will need.....

1. Cardboard box (or something that will give you a big enough piece of cardboard for your heart.
2. sharp knife
3. glue sticks
4. glue gun
5. marker or something else with a not to small tip... in this case, my daughter's lip gloss
6. Coffee filters (from the $ store).

{I forgot to metion this project, cost me a total of 4 glue sticks and 1.08, for the coffee filters.}

1. cut a piece of cardboard.    Draw your desired heart shape.
2. cut out your heart shape.
3. take a coffee filter and center it on your "lipgloss".   Put a dab of glue on it and stick it to the card board & repeat until the card board is filled.   I used about 170 filters.  But it went really fast.  I was done in under an hour.   OH.... and squish the filters as you go.

Link up your project here:

And don't forget to pin this to your board here, if you LOVE it.

My inspiration:
which can be found here on Pinterest, or orginally here
**drum roll**
My lil version:

Easy peasy:  willow tree branches - taken from a tree in my neighborhood.
felt heart stickers with twine sandwiched between them.
Like I said, EASY PEASY.
And I have to admit, it looks pretty cute!
And I can use the branches for my spring display.

**WARNING**

I wanted something tall, sparkly, and shiny for my shelf.
 I wanted to change it up from last year.
I took some left over larger ornaments and glued them together.
Biggest to smallest.

Love how it turned out and  it was exactly was this
 little display needed.

{weekend recap and deep breathing}

This past weekend I was all amped up.  I BLAME PINTREST.   I wanted to organize, decorate, clean, cook... and do it in two days.

Saturday I asked Rob to bring the tree out of storage.   He did.  And there is sat in the box until Sunday.   I decided to paint.   I have been wanting to do it for awhile.   So I headed to Wally World (aka Walmart......., i know, i know but it's 2 min from my house).   I decided on the color - open sesame.    I was going to get this red wall covered and it was only going to take me 2 hours in my head, as it was now 1 pm.   I finished at 1am.   But it's done.   I LOVE it.   It is a huge change.   I love the contrast with my white shutters.   Try to see past the sparse decor, since my decorations where taken down to be replaced with Christmas.  It's almost exhausting how much pinterest projects.   I NEED and WANT to get done.

This was going on outside while we I was busy.

My "sweet" helper.  Offering all kinds of moral support.   She thought she scored when no one was watching her down her "chocolates".    Mommy was just too busy, lol.   *mother of the year*

Before:   *pictures stink, sorry*

After:  ** and so NOT decorated**

I did this last night..... I don't know.   It isn't floating my boat - stay tuned.

{Deep breaths.....}

oh ya.... and I made this.
I wanted to TRY this out - see if it was Christmas morning worthy.    It twas..... but plain old syrup I would suggest.   The icing was waaaaay to much.    You can find the recipe, here.
Again... blame Pinterest.

AFTER the holidays - I am going to attempt painting the cabinets.  I'm thinking dark and then distressing them.
My inspiration can be found HERE.
**update**

This made me laugh....  Raven's post.  And who would of thunk... A pintervention party.  LINK up my fellow Pinners! - so now I must join a "pintervention".

{thrifting craft project}

Thrifty, I was once not... BUT - I am so proud of myself and my spending. I have visited a few thrift stores over the last few weeks and have found some awesome little treasures. I have to give 100% credit to my friend Erika on this fabulous idea. She posted her version on FB and I totally stole it {with her permission}. This was so EASY and CHEAP. I still need one more lid, and paint on two of the candle holders. I plan on getting my Halloween decor out this week so I will keep you all posted once they are filled. Before:
After:
What are you waiting for! Run to your local DI or Savers... And get crafting!
Thank you Erika for sharing! xoxo, bree
